As manufacturing continues it's trend towards commoditization, insurance for logistics suppliers is becoming bigger business every day.

What Is Trucking Insurance?

Trucks are used extensively today to transport a vast array of goods. Since the advent of just-in-time manufacturing, the importance of trucks has, if anything, increased even more.

For trucking insurance, the scope includes part time owner-operators who have their own small truck and deliver locally for hire, to large trucking fleets which operate throughout the North American continent. Although these two extremes are quite different, they are also quite similar in many respects.

Insurance against many types of losses can be purchased. There are many variables in the nature of that coverage, and in determining the cost of that insurance. However, well-managed operations which reduce their risks and focus on skills and quality, can impact their insurance costs positively.
